RabproteinsbelongtotheRassmallGTPasesuperfamily.TheGTP-bindingRab3subfamilyhas4knownisoforms:3A,3B,3C,and3D(Schluteretal.,2004).Theseproteinsareexpressedinhighestconcentrationsinbrainandendocrinetissuesandinvolvedinregulatedexocytosisofhormonesandneurotransmitters(Coppolaetal.,2002).Specifically,Rab3’sarethoughttoplayakeyroleinpresynapticvesicletraffickingandpriming(Schluteretal.,2006).
