Rabphilin-3AisaperipheralmembraneproteinthatbindsCa2+andphospholipidsandisattachedtosynapticvesiclemembranes(Geppertetal.,1994;Lietal.,1994).Theexpressionofrabphilin3AisreducedinananimalmodelofHuntington’sdisease(Smithetal.,2005).RabphilincanbephosphorylatedatSer234bybothCAMkinaseIIandPKAandthisphosphorylationhasbeensuggestedtoregulateneuronalactivityduringdevelopmentinasynapse-specificmanner(Fykseetal.,1995;FolettiandScheller,2001).
