PAKs,p21activatedkinases,areafamilyofserine/threonineproteinkinasescomprisedofsixisoforms,PAK1-6,andtheyplayimportantrolesinCytoskeletondynamics,cellsurvivalandproliferation(Yeetal,2012).EachoftheseisoformscontainsaC-terminalcatalyticdomainandanN-terminalregulatorydomainwithasmallGproteinbindingmotif(Chenetal,2004).OSR1,oxidativestressresponse1,isactivatedonlybyosmoticstresses,likesorbitalorNaCl(Chenetal,2004).IthasbeenpredictedthatOSR1phosphorylatesPAK1intheregulatorydomainatthr84andinhibitsactivationofJNKandMAPKpathway.(Chenetal,2004).IthasalsobeensuggestedthatOSR1mayhavearegulatingfunctionwithactincytoskeletonbecauseitcanphosphorylatePAK1atthr84andbindtogelsolin(Chenetal,2004).
