Protein-tyrosinePhosphataseH1(PTPH1)hasrecentlybeenidentifiedasaspecificp38γMAPKphosphatasewhichismediatedthroughPDZinteraction(Houetal.,2010).Rashasbeendemonstratedtoincreasebothp38γandPTPH1proteinexpression,andthereisacouplingofincreasedp38γandPTPH1proteinexpressioninprimarycoloncancertissues(Houetal.,2010).PhosphorylationofPTPH1atSer459leadstoPTPH1stABIlization,whichplaysanimportantroleinRasoncogenesisandstressresponse(Houetal.,2012).Additionally,phosphorylationofPTPH1Ser459revealsanovelmechanismbywhichMAPKsignalsthroughPTPH1toregulatecellularresponse(Houetal.,2012).
